Zoe-perry
Perry is born the 25th of July 1968 in Chicago, Illinois to Laurie Metcalf Perry and Jeff Perry. In the ABC sitcom Roseanne (as as seen through flashback) Her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's initial TV roles. However, her parents did not let her perform until she turned an adult, for fear of the impact stress might affect their child. Perry claimed she felt shy to act at the age of 16, but she began acting in the theater at Northwestern University as a way to meet new people after she transferred from Boston University. Perry went on to New York, where she landed small roles in series like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Homesickness then brought Perry her back home California which was where theatre jobs were available. Perry performed with her mom as part of The Other Place at Broadway at the end of 2013. The father of her Kevin McKidd performed in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize-winning drama Anna Christie together with her in 2015. Perry was in nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family during 2016. She had a regular role in the ABC drama about politics Scandal, starring her dad. That same year she appeared as a younger version of Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory) as her mother in a younger version. The character was chosen via auditions having a strong association with it.
